The Project: Custom
sets for themed corporate presentations
The Client: Audio
Visual Innovations (AVI), Inc., a Tampa, FL based audiovisual
products and services provider
Theater Sets, Materials Used: N/A Aluminum
and Steel
Materials Used Project #2: Wood &
polypropylene
The Process:In
2007, Audio Visual Innovations, Inc. contracted MDM
Display & Design Services, Inc. to create custom
corporate presentation sets for two of their clients.
For the first, box trussing supplied by the client was
used to create a rectangular grid. Next, multiple projection
screens of various sizes and layouts as well as several
pieces of comic book style artwork were suspended from
the trussing. Tying into the presentation's theme, MDM
created a wooden, custom painted framework designed
to resemble
the pages of an open book. This "book" perimeter
was then affixed to the trussing, thereby hiding the
underlying support structure.
For the second project, the client
requested a shoji-themed stage set complete with a matching
podium. MDM's Design Department created a series of
stackable, foldable (providing for easy transport and
storage) 4' and 8' three-sided, freestanding, wood-framed
box towers. Polypropylene panels were affixed to the
wooden frames for the finishing touch.
