The Process: International
Plaza's holiday décor is nothing short of magnificent.
In both 2005 and 2006, the Tampa mall developed licensed
co-promotional efforts with major film studios and used
newly released animated feature films as the theme for
their annual holiday display. Baltimore based The Becker
Group created a 20' diameter, gold band and crystal
embellished, illuminated, giant snow globe as the centerpiece.
A special walkway invites visitors to step inside the
globe and visit
life-size elements from the films as artificial snow
falls from above.
In addition to installing this unique
backdrop at International Plaza's Santa visiting area,
MDM Display & Design Services, Inc.'s Holiday Décor
Installation department is also responsible for setting
up all of the interactive video and sound system components
of the elaborate display as well as the multiple trees,
wreaths, garlands and other decor that adorn the rest
of the mall during the holiday season.
